DESCRIPTION: |
Originally known as Camp Comfort, Cedar Glen
owes much of its existence to lumberman John
Suverkrup. He and partner John Hook started the
Hook Creek Mill in 1887 and by 1888 were
producing around 20ꯠ square feet of lumber
per day. Suverkrup used a portion of his lumber
profits to buy land about a mile east of (now)
Lake Arrowhead. In 1905, the land become a
makeshift camp for miners who slept there after
a hard days tunneling through rock for a profit
to bring water from Little Bear Lake, now Lake
Arrowhead, to the San Bernardino Valley below.
In 1916, Suverkrup divided the land into 56
lots, which he sold for $150 each. Suverkrup
advertised Cedar Glen as a resort community
with a beautiful view of the lake.
These nice large view lots are situated on a
wonderful little knoll with a commanding view
into the valley. The dimensions of these lots
are 50' X 81' X 88' X 89'. They are on a well
maintained dirt road and have all utilities at
the edge of the property. As there are two lots
in this auction, you will have plenty of room
for all your mountain activities!.
Driving Directions: From Interstate 10 go North
on Interstate 215, 3 miles later go East on the
30, after about a mile head North on Highway 18
to the Mountain Communities. Travel for about
10 miles and turn left on Kuffel Canyon Road.
Go about a mile and then turn right on Highway
173. Travel about another mile and turn right
on Hook Creek Road. About a half mile down turn
left on Lakeview. Go to the second right which
should be Craghill, follow this for about 1/2
mile and the property will be on the left. As
always, it is suggested that you actually go
and see this property before you bid.
